The issue is that not only is visceral games gone, but the EA is literally sitting on the IP. This might relieve the heavy expectations of the game selling well at the bragging - plus the game can be a little more creative or unique because it can reach a very wide audience on gamepass. However i think the funding part is mostly for AA or indie games - what EA and devs will be interested in is the money they get from Microsoft in the way they've contracted the game's profit - I.e for every player that plays the game on game pass thet get money or perhaps it's hours plaid - this depends on what they want. Visceral had a plan for how Dead Space 4 would end, although Wanat didn't want to spoil it just in case EA decides to continue with the franchise. Gamepass is a big factor in this as Microsoft is willing to actually fund games (Not that an EA IP actually needs it) so long as they exclusively come to gamepass. There hasn't been a new Dead Space game since 2013.
